Koppal Nirmithi Kendra was established under the national network programme of building centres Scheme launched by the Government of India through HUDCO, promoted and implemented by Govt. of Karnataka by establishing a Kendra in each district. The Koppal Nirmithi Kendra was established in the year 1998 as a premier society with the Government of India grant assistance of Rs. 5.00 Lakhs and supported by the State Govt. grants through Zilla Panchayat, Koppal. With the patronage shown by various departments and agencies of State Govt., it was able to get established as a premier society (as per KSR act) in the state and it has become fully operational within a short period of its existence of eleven years.

With the dedicated and concerted efforts put forth by the result oriented Chief Operating Officer and his supporting team and equally supported by the district administration, the Kendra has been able to achieve a spectacular all round progress and become a self-sustainable centre and also a Model building Centre for emulation by other centres. The Kendra has been able to significantly contribute to the development process of the Koppal district through implementation of low cost housing technology.
